Valkyrae and a slew of other popular streamers have expressed their displeasure over the impending changes to creator revenue on Twitch.
To recap, Valkyrae moved to YouTube back in 2020. The YouTube star recently took to social media to react to changes to creator revenue.
Rae accused the Amazon-owned platform of killing its own viewer base with a lot of ads.
“Strange being at a YouTube event rn directly speaking to executives while Twitch greeds for profit. Killing your viewer base w/ more ads and hurting the backbone of your company, the creators,” Valkyrae tweeted.

We want to see success from both platforms since competition is good but Twitch is throwin https://t.co/RcEvOCUlZU

The streamer said she’d like to see both YouTube and Twitch have huge success in the streaming segment. However, she went on to add that right now “Twitch is throwin’.”
Valkyrae Reacts To Changes To Twitch Creator Revenue
With the new distribution percentage, streamers will have no choice but to run more ads to their viewers in a bid to make up for the revenue lost.
As expected, creators are not happy with the new changes to the platform’s revenue split. In fact, some creators are even threatening to permanently leave the service, as per a Dot Esports report.
Twitch streamer Asmongold reacted to the changes by noting that it has come at a very bad time for Twitch since YouTube continues to get better each year.
Let’s cut the bullshit– excessive ads are killing Twitch.
You go to a stream and it says 1/6 ads played, you go to another tab then come back and the video player has crashed.
Like if you’ve ever clicked off a stream because of too many ads https://t.co/1LNYc1JJNt

Meanwhile, Valkyrae announced that beneficial changes are headed to YouTube soon.“So unfortunate how long these changes are taking but they have been updating us directly with what’s to come in the future and it seems promising,” she said about upcoming changes to YouTube’s Livestream.
