YouTube Gaming star Rachell “Valkyrae” Hofstetter recently revealed that she edits her appearance in social media posts.
The 31-year-old streamer made the confession in an Instagram post that comprises three images showing her in a black dress. In the first image, the internet celebrity can be seen staring directly into the camera.
The second image showed Rae with her hands up and behind her head. The carousel’s final photo is a mirror selfie. Opting to keep it real, she informed her followers that she was “too lazy to spend 3 seconds to shave so instead I spent an hour editing my armpit hair.”
Valkyrae chooses not to opt for a witty caption
Hofstetter’s followers took to the comments section to question why she chose to edit the photo. “Normalize not shaving queen,” one person declared. Another person said, “girl, own the armpit hair. All girls are perfect the way they are,” according to a report by PopCulture.
“I regret this caption but it feels too late to change it,” Rae admitted in her Instagram Stories. “LOL OF COURSE BODY HAIR IS PERFECTLY FINE AND NORMAL! I just really don’t like body hair on myself. I like being bald and smooth but I don’t mind hair on others at all! Always do what you personally prefer and never ever feel pressured to shave for anybody else.”
Valkyrae, who is one of the world’s most famous female streaming personalities, began streaming on Twitch in 2015. She played some role-playing games along with League of Legends, and Fortnite.
