Sony Announces Brand New PlayStation 5 Console Covers

Sony unveiled new console covers for the Playstation 5 on December 13. The company announced it on Twitter. Alongside console covers, Sony will also release the colored dual senses controllers.

Earlier, Sony had actually patented the designs for its PlayStation 5 console covers. And now, we finally get to see the newly designed covers offered in 5 color variants.

Sony To Launch New Console Covers For PlayStation 5

The Japanese company plans to launch these covers in January 2022, as per NME. From the short trailer released, it appears that we will get to see Nova Pink, Starlight Blue, and Galactic Purple. These colors are in addition to the previous Cosmic Red and Midnight Black.

Playstation tweeted, “A galaxy-inspired palette comes to PS5. Introducing new PS5 console covers, available starting January 2022 in select regions.”

This was followed by another tweet, “Colors from space, to your DualSense wireless controller. First details on Nova Pink, Starlight Blue, and Galactic Purple DualSense controller colors. Launching globally in January 2022.”

Moreover, both versions of Sony PlayStation 5 will have exclusive console covers. These include PlayStation 5 Ultra HD Blu-ray Disc Drive and also PlayStation 5 Digital Edition.

What Else To Expect?

In addition to the console covers, Sony will also launch Galaxy Collection color variants in DualSense Controller. Both the console covers and the dual sense controller will have separate pricing in the markets.

There is yet to be an official confirmation regarding the exact dates of release and the prices of the controllers and covers by the company. As per the speculations, the official Sony PlayStation Console Covers are to be priced at $54.99 in the US.

These consoles and dual sense controller covers have had a fair share of controversies even before the official launch. Earlier this year, Sony took legal action against Dbrand. After this, Dbrand had to pull out their custom plates for the Playstation from the markets.
