Paul Walker Owned 1973 Porsche 911 Carrera RS 2.7 To Go Up For Auction Next Month

Mecum Auctions will be showcasing the 1973 Porsche 911 Carrera used by Paul Walker during Monterey Car Week next month.

To recap, the fresh-looking 1973 Porsche 911 Carrera was an impulse purchase by Paul Walker. The Fast and the Furious star passed away in 2013.

Now, one of Walker’s personal vehicles will be gracing the Monterey Car Week in August this year. Notably, this 1973 Porsche 911 Carrera has been fully restored, as per a report by Car And Driver.

Further, the vehicle boasts a 2.7-liter flat-six-cylinder engine. Also, it has houndstooth black-and-white seats, which are covered in yellow exterior with black accents.

Walker had previously explained to Jay Leno how he found the car for sale online. He went on to purchase it sight unseen in 2011. The 2022 Monterey Car Week will boast an impressive array of vehicles.

For instance, it will feature a 1934 Packard Custom Convertible Sedan and a 2012 Ferrari LaFerrari Prototype MP1. Much to the delight of The Fast and The Furious fans, the light-yellow 1973 Porsche 911 Carrera RS 2.7 will be up for grabs at the auction as well.

The 911 RS 2.7 model was first raced on the track back in 1972. Moreover, Porsche increased the number of RS 2.7 units to a whopping 1580 cars, citing the vehicle’s skyrocketing popularity.

Now, Walker’s car will include a Porsche certificate of authenticity, as well as FIA paperwork. Jerry Woods Enterprises has restored the powertrain including the suspension and drivetrain.

The powertrain houses a 2.7-liter flat-six-cylinder engine that delivers 210 horsepower. An 8000-rpm tachometer notifies when it’s time to shift the five-speed manual transmission.

Also, the odometer shows 93,774 kilometers (58,268 miles). Autobahn Interiors has redone the black interior, giving the 911 black-and-white sport bucket seats.

Aside from this, it has gauges from VDO. The overhauled 911 comes with steel body panels, unlike the standard 911. Further, the redone vehicle has lighter, and thinner windows.

The car also features a fiberglass rear deck, as well as a lightweight ducktail spoiler. You can register on the Mecum website before the Monterey Car Week starts on August 18.

The 911 is available on the site at Lot R290. Lastly, the auction will take place on Saturday, August 20. Watch this space for the latest auction news and updates!
