LA Thieves have confirmed that the Black Ops 3 world champion John ‘John’ Perez will grace their CDL roster for CoD Champs, as well as Stage 5.
Considered as one of Call of Duty’s best SMG players, John mysteriously disappeared from the scene at the beginning of the Modern Warfare season. He later attributed his absence to health issues that have been stopping him from competing.
This did not stop John from being a mainstay among the top players in the Challengers circuit throughout Black Ops Cold War. He was waiting with bated breath to make his return to the big leagues and show why he is touted as the best SMG player in Call of Duty history.
The second season of the CDL is almost over, and John finally has a chance to join one of the biggest brands in the league. On June 24, LA Thieves made the news official after earlier reports from Dot Esports.

The org dropped TJHaly. “He’s back,” The LA Thieve tweeted. “Ready to compete in the CoD League, finally,” John added. “A moment in the making and I’m ready to make the most of it!”
Ready to compete in the @CODLeague finally and the fact that it is with @LAThieves is a blessing, a moment in the making and I’m ready to make the most of it! #LAThieves https://t.co/nrL0reTAYm

Previously surfaced reports imply he may not be in the starting lineup right away. However, LA Thieves ended this speculation. The LA Thieves Stage 5 starting lineup includes:
- Kenny
- SlasheR
- John
- Drazah

On the downside, Cuyler ‘Huke’ Garland has been put on the LAT bench once again after his buyout from Dallas Empire. This leaves John accompanied by familiar faces in the LA Thieves camp.
