Amazon and Blue Origin founder Jeff Bezos posted an old article that predicted that Amazon would fail and Elon Musk replied to Bezos’ tweet.
Barron’s, an American weekly magazine/newspaper had predicted Amazon’s failure in 1999. They wrote that Jeff’s new business paradigm was silly and called him just another middleman.
Moreover, the magazine said that Amazon’s stock price would plunge and the real winners of the Net would be firms that sell their own products directly to consumers. They said that Sony, Dell, and Bertelsmann are some examples.
Listen and be open, but don’t let anybody tell you who you are. This was just one of the many stories telling us all the ways we were going to fail. Today, Amazon is one of the world’s most successful companies and has revolutionized two entirely different industries. pic.twitter.com/MgMsQHwqZl

However, their prediction turned out be false. Amazon became one of the most influential economic and cultural forces in the world as well as the world’s most valuable brand.
Netflix co-CEO, Reed Hastings also wrote in the comments section of Bezos’s tweet to congratulate him for Amazon’s success.
The deeper the doubts, the sweeter the success. https://t.co/dgrbu6yB3d

However, this isn’t the first time that the Tesla CEO quipped about Bezos. Earlier, Amazon had planned to launch a constellation of more than 3,000 internet satellites. Musk called Bezos a “copy cat.”

Congratulations on all of the ingenuity and hard work you put forth to make Amazon the success that it is…I can’t imagine the sacrifices that you had to make to achieve this type of success – bravo!
