GTA 6 Rumors: GTA 6 To Be Timed-Exclusive For PS5

While GTA V continues to garner skyrocketing popularity among its huge fanbase of the popular action-adventure game series, some avid gamers are restlessly waiting for the game developer Rockstar to release the next installment, that continues to do the rounds online bearing the GTA 6 moniker.

A recently surfaced GTA 6 rumor could prove to be a big win for PlayStation 5 and bad news or the Xbox Series X if it proves to be true. Rockstar Games is slated to bring GTA and GTA Online to PS5 and Xbox Series X in 2021, but there’s still no confirmation about whether or not Grand Theft Auto VI will follow.

While nothing is set in stone yet, there’s hearsay that the hotly-anticipated title will come to the next-gen consoles within the next few years. It is also worth noting that the game will be exclusive to the console, at least at first.

A new rumor suggests Sony has been in talks with the series developer over making the next GTA installment a PS5-timed exclusive. This piece of information comes from Foxy UK Games, which claims that GTA 6 may be coming to PS5 first as part of a deal between Sony and Rockstar’s worth $750 million.

If this comes to fruition, GTA 6 will arrive on PS5 first and will be exclusive to the console for the first 30 days. Moreover, it looks like exclusive content may be a part of the deal.

The rumor does not divulge more details but seems to piggyback on earlier reports that suggest Sony has been trying to lock up third part exclusive deals and shelling out a considerable amount of money in the process. It is worth mentioning here that the rumor mill has been churning out speculations surrounding a deal between Sony and Rockstar Games over GTA 6 and PS5.

It is reasonable for Sony to spend a considerable amount of money in a bid to lock GTA 6 behind some timed exclusivity, the game developer and Take-Two Interactive earn so much money with the Grand Theft Auto series that it is hard to imagine that they would be interested in what is likely to turn out to be a controversial deal.

Rockstar Games, Take-Two Interactive, and Sony continue to remain tight-lipped, neither confirming nor debunking the rumor, and there are slim chances they will.
