In the latest attack on Tesla’s unique electric pickups, environmental activists vandalized a Cybertruck on display at a Tesla store in Germany.
Footage circulating on X showed multiple activists clad in orange vests throwing orange paint on a Cybertruck at Tesla’s Hamburg, Germany store. The video also captured two individuals holding a painted sign reading “Gepanzert in die Katastrophe” (German for “armored in the catastrophe”).
The news sparked a response from Elon Musk, who endorsed another user’s view later on Saturday, following a series of attacks targeting Tesla’s Cybertrucks and its Gigafactory in Grünheide, Germany.

In a similar incident last month, Cybertrucks at a Fort Lauderdale, California store was defaced with profanity targeting the Tesla CEO, though later cleaned. The Musk-led automobile company previously faced threats of violence during the Cybertruck’s delivery event in November, with the suspect apprehended.
Environmental Activists Target Tesla Cybertruck
Escalating tensions have seen protestors launch multiple attacks on Gigafactory Berlin-Brandenburg, as per a Teslarati report. In March, some protestors even set fire to a power substation near the Grünheide facility, disrupting production for several days. Additionally, protestors have been constructing treehouses and occupying nearby forests to hinder any future factory expansions.
In May, roughly 1,000 protestors affiliated with the Dirsupt Alliance reportedly attempted to occupy Gigafactory Berlin. The incident resulted in 23 arrests, 76 criminal charges, and injuries to 27 police officers. “Something very strange is happening since Tesla was the *only* car company to be attacked,” Musk wrote in a post on X.
Environmental concerns and local opposition are challenging Tesla. The future impact of these issues on Cybertruck production in Germany remains unclear.
