Twitter owner Elon Musk claim people working from home are detached from reality. Here’s what he thinks about the WFH culture.
Apparently, the 52-year-old tech mogul believes those who work from home take advantage of those who aren’t able to work from home.
Aside from this, the Tesla CEO believes people who work from home are “detached from reality.” During the company’s Q3 earnings earlier this week, Musk said: “Why did I sleep in the factory so many times?”
Responding to the question about working from home, Musk told analysts that working from the office mattered.
“What about all the people that have to come to the factory and build the cars? What about all of the people that have to go to the restaurant and make your food, and deliver your food?” he asked.
To recap, Musk has previously called remote work “morally wrong”. Earlier this year, he told CNBC that “Silicon Valley ‘laptop classes’ need to get off their ‘moral high horse’ with their work-from-home bulls***.”
He went on to compare the concept of working from home with the fake Marie Antoinette quote, “Let them eat cake”. To those unaware, Antoinette was the queen of France during the French Revolution.
Although some claim she never uttered those words, the quote “Let them eat cake” is often attributed to Antoinette.
“Really, you’re gonna work from home? And you’re gonna make everyone else who made your car come work at the factory?” Musk asked.
“The people who make your food that gets delivered, they can’t work from home? The people who fix your house, they can’t work from home but you can? Does that seem morally right? It’s messed up, ” Musk added. “It’s not just a productivity thing. I think it’s morally wrong.”

What an incredibly odd labour rights hill to die on. “working in the office sucks, so if some have to, everyone has to!”
Well you can make them do that elon, but you’ll have to pay them more.
