Tesla has begun shipping the redesigned Cybertruck aero wheel covers. These new covers, closely resembling the original ones, aim to prevent tyre scuffing.
Images of the Cybertruck’s updated aero wheel covers were initially shared in the r/Cybertruck subreddit. As the updated component photos show, the new aero covers don’t extend as far into the Cybertruck’s tyre.
Redesigned Aero Covers Aim To Fix Scuffing Issue
This should prevent the covers from scuffing the sidewall of the Cybertruck’s tyres when the vehicle is in motion. Social media buzzed with approval for the updated aero covers, with some even claiming they were the finishing touch for the Cybertruck’s design.

While the Cybertruck’s bare wheels give the vehicle a rugged look, after all, the aero covers just gave the all-electric pickup truck an extra-futuristic appearance. The Cybertruck’s design screams futuristic, extending even to its wheels.
Resembling props straight out of a sci-fi film, the truck’s aero wheel covers wouldn’t look amiss on a Martian rover. Early Cybertruck deliveries included the aero wheel covers.
However, by February, Cybertruck Owners Club reports surfaced, indicating some vehicles arrived without them. This was allegedly due to the original aero covers causing damage to the tyres.
The initial Cybertruck’s aero covers, designed to extend past the wheel rim and onto the tyre sidewall, caused unnecessary wear on that sidewall due to constant contact during rotation, posing potential safety risks. Consequently, Tesla opted to deliver the Cybertruck without the aero covers until a revised version could be released.
