Bernard Arnault, Mukesh Ambani, Elon Musk, on the other hand, witnessed a rise in their wealth. The total net worth of RIL (Reliance Industries Limited) Mukesh Ambani increased by $382 million, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index list on Sept. 12.
Ambani’s net worth saw a sharp rise on Sept. 11, helping him move to fifth position and overtake Bernard Arnault and Warren Buffett. The surge in his total net worth can be attributed to the fact that RIL is mulling over the idea of selling a stake in its retail arm to Amazon, and this led to a surge in the price of RIL shares.
The net worth of the US-based investors declined due to the US stock closing lower. This was one of the worst weeks for the IT companies listed in the US stock market since several IT companies’ shared saw a fall due to sell-off for profit booking.
Large IT companies were affected this week, according to CNBC with Facebook and Amazon each losing over 5 percent. Netflix and Apple slipped by 6.6 percent and 7.4 percent, respectively.
