‘Alan Wake Remastered’ Coming To PC, Xbox, PlayStation

Alan Wake Remastered has been announced and is slated to arrive on PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, and the PS5. The remastered version of Remedy Entertainment’s cult classic will be available to download via Epic Games Store.

The 2010 action-adventure game is getting a remastered version for a myriad of platforms. Alan Wake Remastered will be released by Epic Games’ publishing arm. Last week, Alan Wake Remastered listing hinted at an Oct. release date. Remedy and Epic divulged some key details about the remastered version.

The announcement from Remedy and publisher Epic confirmed that the remastered version will come with both of the game’s expansions and 4K resolution support. Moreover, it will feature new commentary from creative director Sam Lake. Although the aforesaid retailer leaks hint at an Oct. 5 release, details about an official release date are scarce.

Lake wrote about the remaster on Remedy / Alan Wake fansite The Sudden Stop. “This is for you,” he wrote at the start of the letter. In his post, he assured me that the game was almost complete and that it is “the original experience you fell in love with all those years ago. We did not want to change that.”

What to expect?

“But the visuals all around, including the character model of Alan Wake himself and the cinematics, have been updated and improved with some choice next-generation upgrades.”

Back in 2020, Epic and Remedy announced a publishing deal for two titles, including an AAA multi-platform production. Aside from that, the deal comprises a smaller project set in the same universe. It is still unclear whether Alan Wake Remastered is the latter project. However, if it is, that could be a possible Alan Wake sequel.

Remedy’s last game, Control has some subtle references to Alan Wake. While details about Alan Wake Remastered release date and still few and far between, it shouldn’t be too far off. Epic claims it will be available this fall.
