Jeong ‘Chovy’ Ji-hoon broke the Korean solo queue record, before the start of the much-awaited Worlds 2023 main event.
Chovy, who is Gen.G mid laner, has been considered one of the best in his position for a while now, He has gained skyrocketing popularity as an international powerhouse after making his debut with Griffin in 2018.
Now, Chovy is set to make his fourth straight League of Legends World Championship. Ahead of that, the widely popular South Korean mid-laner has taken the gaming realm by storm.
Ahead of the impending international tournament, Chovy has been keeping his skills sharp by grinding in the Korean solo queue server. Notably, he has managed to break the LP record for the server.
Currently, the player holds the highest rank with 2,008 LP in the server, surpassing the second-ranked player by over 200 points. In fact, Chovy has outperformed other pros who have previously lighted up the Korean League server.
Chovy Gets 2,000 LP On The Korean Server
For comparison, 2,008 LP is not as impressive as the top players in the Vietnam, Latin America South, Brazil, and Northern European servers. All players in these regions have over 2,000 LP.
However, it is worth noting that the Korean server is considered the hardest server. It is made even more difficult considering there are 79 other Worlds 2023 players queueing in that server at this time.
Chovy bagged this score while playing mostly mid-lane across 305 games with a 62 per cent win rate. Yone, Jayce, K’Sante, Azir and Sylas have been his top five characters during this climb.
Gen.G and Chovy are slated to kick off their Worlds 2023 journey on October 19 in the Main Event. Watch this space for the latest e-sports news.
