Elon Musk Denies Reactivating Kanye West’s Twitter Account

Elon Musk has put rumors suggesting he personally decided to reactivate the Twitter account of rapper Kanye West to rest.

Elon Musk reportedly shelled out a whopping $44 billion on October 27 to purchase Twitter. The billionaire has been teasing that previously blocked high-profile blocked accounts will be freed from “Twitter jail.”

“Twitter will be forming a content moderation council with widely diverse viewpoints. No major content decisions or account reinstatements will happen before that council convenes,” he said.

In another tweet, he stated that “anyone suspended for minor & dubious reasons will be freed from Twitter jail.”

Netizens have been keeping an eye on recently banned celebrities including former US President Donald Trump, Andrew Tate, and others.

Interestingly, Kanye West’s restrictions were lifted on October 28. For those unaware, the rapper was removed from all major social media platforms not long ago.

Elon Musk Reveals He Didn’t Reactivate Kanye West’s Twitter Account

In line with this, West wasn’t able to post or interact with other users on Twitter. However, West’s Twitter account remained visible despite the ban.

Musk has assured Twitter users that he did not decide to reactivate Ye’s account. He tweeted: “Ye’s account was restored by Twitter before the acquisition. They did not consult with or inform me.”

According to a Dexerto report, this is a major sign that Ye’s account was unbanned before the buyout was complete. Kanye West’s comments in relation to the Jewish community led to his social media ban.
