OpTic Appears Set To Takeover Envy’s Valorant Lineup Before VCT 2022

The first VCT 2022 event is around the corner, and it looks like OpTic Gaming is taking over the Valorant lineup of Envy Gaming.

In other words, OpTic Gaming could be gearing up to takeover Envy’s Valorant team. Moreover, the professional esports organization could be on the verge of making its foray into the Valorant scene.

OpTic Gaming To Take Over Envy’s Valorant

Last year, OpTic Gaming and Envy announced a merger. OpTic branding went on to takeover Envy’s Halo squad. The word on the street is that org is now prepping to take over Envy’s Valorant lineup.

Despite the lack of an official confirmation, this transition was tipped when a brand new OpTic Valorant jersey was spotted on Envy’s online shop. Moreover, the online listing features two familiar faces donning black, green, and white colors.

Both FNS and Victor graced the store listing, their first time not sporting Envy threads since September 2020.

The North American squad is no stranger to key staff changes. However, the core lineup has been together for more than a year.

Furthermore, the most recent additions include Marved and yay, with the former being currently borrowed from FaZe Clan. Dexerto speculates the full squad is likely to transfer over to OpTic without notable roster changes.

The most significant result for Envy came at Stage 3 Masters Berlin LAN where they finished second, despite falling to Gambit Esports.

The impending OpTic lineup is one of the four teams that has been invited directly to the first VCT Challengers 2022 event. Games will start from February 11, and the region’s biggest squads will leave no stone unturned to qualify for Masters Stage 1.
